How to register for the Lithuanian Constitution exam
If you are taking the exams for citizenship or a permanent residence permit, you register and pay through the Migration Department's MIGRIS system. Here is the whole process.
Steps
- Log in to migracija.lt (MIGRIS). Only people with a Lithuanian personal code (asmens kodas) can register this way.
- Choose the exam (Constitution basics and/or state language) and a session date.
- You sit the exam at the exam centre (base school) of the municipality where you live. If it is full, pick the nearest alternative. The centre's address and contacts are shown after you register.
- Pay straight away with the payment button on the same site: Constitution exam €21, language exam €57. If you don't pay, you are not added to the candidate list.
- Prepare: study by topic and take the mock exam a few times.
2026 Constitution exam dates
13 February, 30 April, 9 July, 24 September, 10 November, 8 December. Always check the NŠA schedule.
Useful tips
- NŠA recommends passing the state language exam first.
- No official registration deadline for the MIGRIS route is published on these pages – register as early as you can, places are limited.
- If you are taking an exam for another reason (for example A1/A2 for work), you register at eksternams.nsa.smm.lt: it opens 30 days and closes 7 days before the exam, fee €52.
